Breakers Ladies Golf Club Wamberal

 1. New COVID LOGIN at club and pro shop. You should have received an email from Breakers explaining the need to have the Service NSW app on your phone in order to enter the club and play golf from January 1st. You must log on using the QR code provided. This is a government requirement so that Covid tracing is easier. You can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play.  You can access the app via the Breakers app you prefer.  For those of you who don't have a smartphone, you will need to ask a friend to include you in their log in. You must log in electronically now. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions to this at this stage if you wish to play golf. The club is working hard to try to streamline entry into the club as much as possible. Please note, these procedures are subject to change as government decisions change.  What a sticky first day, 23 ladies took on the challenge of the stickiness and made it through the 18 holes. Congratulations to Jenny Fletcher on her 36 points, narrowly beating Nancy Carey-Berryman. Wasn't it great to be able to celebrate the end of this unbelievable year with a lovely get-together on Thursday.  It was terrific to see everyone in their finery enjoying the occasion and appreciating the Championship and Veterans winners who were presented with their prizes. It was also nice to be able to catch up with some of our "golden oldies" who were able to join us again.  Congratulations yet again to Michelle for organising this different event. Let's hope things will get back to normal next year and we can include our usual continuous competitions. Don't forget that the Summer Comps are open on the computer. (Change the date at the top on the portal to access them all!)  Also, I hope you have remembered to either spend all your points or transfer them to your Pearl Rewards card, if you have one.  Hi Ladies, As many of you know, in recent years we have taken the opportunity on Presentation Day to have a ceremony at the Memorial Stone near the 2nd tee to add any name plaques of recently deceased  Members who had contributed significantly to our club over many years. Since last year's ceremony, one of our Life Members, Paddy Hearn passed away. Unfortunately, due to Covid rules, it is inappropriate to have a large group of people gather around the stone so it was decided to add Paddy's name recently and arrange  a time for her family to visit to see the plaque on the stone.  This happened today and it was lovely to have the opportunity to share this time with her family and to recall the many things that Paddy had done during her years on the committee, largely during the 90s. Beside holding the roles of Treasurer and Junior Vice President at times, some of you will remember her running the Summer Comp for many years, with fun events such as 3 clubs and a putter, and Secre

 Well we made it, what a year! I thought we would never achieve as much as we have however today was a colour of Christmas cheer throughout the golf course which I'm sure put a smile on everyone's faces as it did mine.  Congratulations to everyone today for celebrating our amazing club and members. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week at our presentation luncheon.   The District Opening Day is always a popular event so next year it has been decided to play it at two courses on the same day, so everyone who wants to, can play. Prizes will be awarded for each course. Details are as follows. Monday 15th February at Shelly Beach or Breakers(!) Stableford Teams Event ... Team of 4 ...  2 scores to count Entry Fee is $20 per player On the entry form, you can nominate which course you wish to play at.  There is a limit of 144 players at Shelly and 72 at Breakers. Already numerous entries have been received so if you want to play, you need to see Nell tomorrow to enter your team. We will send the entries in the evening so if you choose to pay Deanne online, make sure you do so tomorrow. Last week we sent all the entries we had received for the Toukley Classic on March 8th and 9th. If you missed out, Nell will take further entries tomorrow. Breakers Ladies held their CCWGA Sponsored Charity Day in beautiful sunny weather today. In a Countdown Stableford event 59 players had a fun time using their 'cheat sheets'. We are happy to report that $1535 was raised from sale of 'cheat sheets, raffle and donations to assist Lifeline Direct. Thank you to CCWGA for your donations enabling us to award 7 team prizes.   

Just reminding you it is a fund raising event, with money raised to be donated to the ongoing district charity, Lifeline Direct, Central Coast.  The District have sponsored this event, with prizes donated by CCWGA. As well as $100 in cash, we will have CCWGA logo socks, wine glasses, towels and hat clips to be won. The event is Team of 4, Countdown Stableford.  There will be cheat sheets available before your tee off as well as Raffle tickets for a number of Prizes. Tickets are 3 for $5 or 7 for $10. So bring your cash and and your golf game to help support the District Charity.
