FIELD FOR STABLEFORD SHOOTOUT 2017

1. Kerrie McInerney This young filly is a twin from the prolific Stibbard family stud. She has earned the spot of top filly in this year’s event with a great score of 44 points. A great competitor, she is either on her game or not. Will she handle the pressure? Worth a wager.
2. Nareda Leary second highest qualifier with 42 points. With Irish genes this filly is always in with a chance and why wouldn’t she be – she hails from the famous Smith stable. Reliable and steady – don’t rule this one out.
3. Aileen Davis qualified third with 41 points. Out of the Davis stable – this one is a bit of a dark horse – very often in the prize winners circle. This mare has a very good blood line and with a good handicap could be a surprise.
4. Di Rudd this filly out of the Quinlan stable is a rising star having qualified fourth with another good score of 40. With her Irish breeding and determination this young mare is breaking new ground. Watch this one.
5. Colleen Henry, the silver streak, has had an impeccable run over the last six months. Trained by the diverse Henry family, she is in great form and qualified fifth with another score of 40. Her expertise and knowledge of the course has improved greatly over the last two years. Keep your eye on the Silver Streak
6. Debbie Lorking this filly has a great future. Her breeding is exceptional coming from the Forde line. She upset her competitors by qualifying sixth on a count back with 40 points. She is quick out of the barriers and, on her day, will be a threat to the rest of the field provided she can maintain her form to the finish line. She will be odds on to win.
7. Mel Sheekey the youngest filly in the field, what an exciting young filly is this one. Trained at the Akers stable she has all the skills to set her above all her competition. This one could go all the way and keep going. Follow this one in the future. Mel along with the rest of the qualifiers made the field with 39 points.
8. Helen Ingle, last year’s winner. A cool, calm mare from the creditable Newman stable. This mare has been improving all year so it will be interesting to see what she can bring to the competition this year. Will she make it a double?
9. Michelle Hughes, a young 2 year old, one of the youngest fillies in the field. Don’t be fooled by her youth. Trained and bred by the White stable this young filly has really shown her quality. Her handicap has steadily decreased over the last 2 years and she has the ability to take on all comers. A very exciting future assured for this one.
10. Janice Adlard what a way to round off this exciting field. Last year’s runner up. The Adlard stable has produced some very good contenders and Janice is no exception. Always calm and reliable who makes smart decisions – will be hard to beat again this year.
