RULES FOR THIS WEEK!
Hi Ladies,
Once again I have been approached to clarify a couple of rules that came up on Thursday. See below for a brief explanation of them both. More details can be found in the rule books!
RULE 8 COURSE PLAYED AS IT IS FOUND
This rule restricts what you can do to improve any of the conditions affecting your stroke.
8.1a Actions That Are NOT Allowed
You cannot....
...move, bend or break any growing or attached natural object, or immovable obstruction, integral object or boundary object.
...alter the surface of the ground.
...remove or press down sand or loose soil (except on the putting green)
RULE 9 BALL AT REST LIFTED OR MOVED
9.4 Ball Lifted or Moved by You
If you cause your ball at rest to move when you are having a practice swing, you must replace the ball where it was for a one stroke penalty unless it happens on the putting green. In this instance, you still have to put it back where it was but there is no penalty.
Similarly, if you accidentally move your ball by dropping something on it or kicking it, the same rule applies. You again get a one stroke penalty unless it happens on the putting green, in which case there is no penalty.
If you come across any other rules that you would like to check, please feel free to talk to me after golf and I will attempt to find the answers!
