Golf 30 April

Todays 4BBB Par Classic has been postponed due to the condition of the course. There will be a Stableford event which will not be handicapped if you wish to play.   Please phone Nickie if you wish to cancel. If you do not contact her she will assume you will be playing.  For those who decide not to play you may wish to meet for coffee at the club at 11am.

Charity Day is coming up on July 16

It's time to start thinking about Charity Day organisation for 2015. If you are able to assist with a raffle prize; have some ideas to enhance our day; would like to be involved in running or assisting on one of the tables; etc., etc., please come and talk to Deanne. It's also time to start looking at what's in season to start making those delicious home made jams, pickles, relishes, etc. or, now it's cooler, start working on those craft items.  Let's see if we can top last year's total. It's so nice to be able to make a contribution to our local charities.

Can you help with the clean up of our beautiful course

We need your help to restore our course to its normal pristine best. There will be a working bee commencing at 8am tomorrow (Friday 24th). If you can spare any time, come along equiped to pick up debris from this week's storms.  Many hands to share the load will mean a quicker and better outcome.

Golf 23 April

There will be no golf on Thursday. Our course has taken quite a battering over the last few days. Fortunately the lake was opened to prevent flooding of residential areas around the lake which helped the course to drain however we have some large trees which have fallen, debris right across the course all made worse by the loss of electricity. Our thoughts go to our green staff who have the massive task to get it back into shape as quickly as possible.

Heroic Division 3 Pennants Team win their 2nd Round

On an extremely wet, wild and windy day last Monday our Division 3 Pennants Team of Michelle, Colleen, Judi, Cheryl Ledger, Peggy and Veneice battled Shelley Beach ladies at Magenta.  The wild weather conditions would have defeated most of us but not this hardy bunch playing for their club. What a win. This places our team at the top of the leader board for Division 3. Well done ladies!! We are in awe of you all!! Division 2 were to play at Wyong. The matches were cancelled due to the atrocious weather conditions. Does this mean that Division 2 ladies (not just our team) are soft??? Or are Division 3 crazy?

Match Play Championships.

Our championships are coming down to the wire with Deanne Curby and Nancy Chilman taking on Annette McInnes and Liz Steadman in one semi final and Carol Stratford and Jeanice Gibson playing Ronalda Arnott and Elaine Clarke in the other semi.  Good luck girls.

Congratulations to all members of our two Pennants teams. Today was the first time our teams had played in this year's competition. Division 2 Pennants team played Magenta at Everglades and won 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 - which means 4 of our ladies won their matches, one tied and 1 lost. Division 3 Pennants team played Everglades at Shelley Beach. The result was the same 4 1/2 to 1 1/2. Fantastic results ladies. What a great start! We are proud of your efforts!

Only 47 ladies took on the Stroke challenge for April. Scores were not as high generally as they usually are but there were those ladies who played brilliantly showing the rest of us up. Michelle Lee scooped the pool with the lowest net score across the field. Michelle's handicap is heading south! It was great to see Alison Bone in the winners spot for Division 1 net score. Full results were as follows: Division 1.   Net Winner.  Alison Bone (26) with a score of 71 net                      2nd               Nareda Leary (22) with a score of 72 net on a count back from                      3rd.               Sandra Kunze (23) also with a score of 72 net Divisions 2 + 3                      Net Winner.  Michelle Lee (28) with a score of 68 net                      2nd.              Peggy Searle (29) with a score of 71 net                      3rd.               Nell Spargo (29) with a score of 72 net                      4th.               Kath Porter (32) with a score of 75 net ****

Operation Uplift

Have you got any old bras in the back of your drawers?? Every few years Operation Uplift does a collection of bras to send to women in third world countries who would be most grateful to receive them. Empty those drawers and bring them to Dee Barham who will see that they go where they are most needed.
