Breakers Ladies Golf Club Wamberal

There were 30 brave souls who braved the heat today and played. Congratulations to the winners. Being 29th February, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Unfortunately, this means that the scores will not be uploaded to Golf Link at the moment. We don't know when that will be fixed, so we have to wait.  Because of the heat and other factors, the Prize Report is manual today. The 9 hole Comp had 12 players and 10 balls were awarded. (Oops) The 18 hole Comp had 18 players, so it was condensed to one division. 1st Janice Adlard                  $30 2nd Laraine Williams            $25 3rd Patricia Davidson           $20 There were 6 balls for this Comp. On a hot and steamy Thursday 36 ladies played in our first Stableford event of the year.   Congratulations to all the lovely ladies who played at Breakers today. The smiles as everyone came in told what a fun day they had all had. Thanks to Nicky in the Pro Shop for her assistance with the start and finish. All the scores were entered and results done, with the presentation finished before 2:00 pm. That was a fantastic effort!! Thanks to our wonderful grounds staff who prepared the course for today, following the deluge last Thursday night. They have done a fabulous job!! Thanks to Mounties for the tea and coffee, as well as all the sandwiches, in the Auditorium. Thanks to Colleen and Deanne for selling all those raffle tickets. The winners were very happy with their prizes. Thanks to the CCWGA Committee for their generous prizes for the winners of both the golf and the guessing competition. We look forward to hosting again next year (but perhaps the weather gods could be consulted when the date is chosen.)

Let's hope for a fine day and good golfing for everyone. Next week's game is a Stableford, plus the First District Brooch, plus 9 holes for those ladies playing in pairs who don't wish to, or cannot, play 18 holes. Please ring Nicky if you wish to be placed into the 9 hole competition.

 Morning everyone, Just a quick reminder that our Opening Day is this Thursday, 8th February. There are still a few spots available, so even if you're not in a team and want to play, put your name down and see those empty spots fill up. Please wear your new Breakers shirt.  The normal raffle and 100 club will be running, so bring your cash with you. If it does rain and we don't play, we will still meet for coffee at 11:00 am to hold the Summer Competition Presentation. This will of course include the bubbles and OJ that would have been served after play. You  can also pay for the Continuous Comp and go over the Fairway news.  Also it’s time to get people thinking about pennants. This  year there are 10 players  in a team, and only one team per club, so we need as many players as possible  to sign up for our Breakers team. Come along and play on Thursday and enjoy the start to the  new  golfing year!!
