Etiquette

Some issues related to Etiquette on the golf course have come up lately. Although there does not appear to be any mention of this word in the 2019 rules, there are rules which relate to the idea, in particular…. Rule 1.2 Standards of Player Conduct All players are expected to play in the spirit of the game by… ·         Acting with integrity-for example, by following the Rules, applying all penalties, and being honest in all aspects of play ·         The player and her marker have explicit responsibility for the correctness of the player’s score card. There may be exceptional individual cases where , in order to protect the interests of every other player in the competition , it would be reasonable to expect any competitor in the competition to bring to light a player’s breach of the Rules by notifying the player and/or her marker as soon as possible. We are aware that some ladies can find this a most difficult thing to do but it can be done gently and politely and unfortunat

In this instance, you still have to put it back where it was but there is no penalty. Similarly, if you accidentally move your ball by dropping

RULES THAT CAME UP IN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hi Ladies, During the last few weeks I have been asked questions about the following rules, so here is some clarification for you all. 1. If your ball is in a position where  a red penalty area stake is in the way of your swing or stance , you are only able to get a free drop if your ball is outside the penalty area. If your ball is in the penalty area, then you either have to hit the ball where it lies or have to use the penalty area rule and drop out for a penalty of one. 2. If you hit off the 8th tee, your ball goes over the creek in front of the tee and then hits a tree, rock etc and bounces back into the creek, you need to drop on the tee side of the creek . The reason for this is that, even though the ball last crossed the penalty area on the green side of the creek, you cannot drop the ball without being closer to the green than where it last  crossed the penalty area. Just occasionally, this might be possible in this type of situation if the penalty area is at an angle that g
