Who'd have thought! Golf NSW Medal State Final

If you are like me you come to golf on a Thursday and play the game set down for that day. Terms such as "Stroke Monthly Medal 2nd GNSW Medal" just meant the game of the day was Stroke. It is only now, as I write this, that I realise how I qualified for the State Final. All the first six stroke rounds are GNSW medal qualifying rounds. the winners in each division are those with the best 3 nett scores on any three of these 6 rounds.  My nett scores were good enough to qualify me, equal with Charmaine Armbruster, as our Division 3 GNSW medal winners at the District Final at Toukley on Champions Day last October. I was lucky enough to play well and won the District Division 3 GNSW medal and so earned a place at the State Finals for the Golf NSW medal. How ridiculous - Me attending a State Final! This State Final was to be held at Stonecutters Ridge in December on a date which was not suitable for me - to my relief! Imagine my surprise when I found out the day had to be resch

Pennant results from last Monday 11/4/16 Banksia lost 7-0 to Morisset at Morisset although a number of matches made it to the final few holes. Hopefully our toughest test of the season. Good Luck Deanne.

Good luck to Deanne Curby who will be playing in the re-scheduled 2015 GNSW medal at Stonecutters Ridge this Wednesday. Thanks to Colleen Henry for being both driver and caddie on the day. Have a wonderful day and we hope you make the most of this very rare experience.

Everglades Open Day 12/4/16

Breakers had another very good showing at Woy Woy on Tuesday with about six teams of 4 representing the club.   The  team of Judy Eaton, Cheryl Ledger, Michelle Collyer and Di Connolly coming in a very creditable second on 73 points one point off the leaders. Judy Eaton and Helen Ingle had nearest the pins and Holly Akers had the straightest drive in Division One.  Alas we were not raffle winners this time a first for a long time.  Judy Eaton, Cheryl Ledger, Di Connolly, Michelle Collyer    In the second session Jan Portelli was in the winning Shelly team on 82 points. (Lucky not to have had the rain that the 1st session had).   Lynne Howell's Magenta team also did well.   Nancy Carey-Berryman won NTP.

However, since there will be a much reduced field, the timesheet needs to be altered. We anticipate hit off times will be from about 8.30-9.10am. Please ring the pro shop on Wednesday for an updated time if you intend to play and ensure you cancel if you are not going to play. Please pass this message on to those who may not read the blog.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you Margaret passed away on Sunday night.  The funeral is to be held this:        Thursday 14th April 10am        MacKay Family Funerals, 249 Pacific Highway, Ourimbah. It was thought it might be a nice gesture to wear our new club shirts as a mark of respect for   Margaret. One of Margaret's last games played at Toukley last year.

The Banksia team with the opposition Wyong. On another day when the Gods were on our side re the weather, rain was all around but not a drop on Wamberal and the course was in pristine condition for our visitors. In  the Banksia pool our team had a win  5 1/2 to 1 1/2 against Wyong.  A very good win.   In the Wattle pool our team was unlucky to lose 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 to Toukley. A big thank you  to the social committee for providing such a yummy morning tea. There were lots of positive comments about the course and the new system at this early stage.....
