BILL BIRCH PLAQUE

 Hi Ladies,

Some of you will have heard that the memorial plaques for Paddy Hearn and Bill Birch were placed on the Memorial Stone near the 2nd Tee recently. 

Unfortunately, the one with Bill Birch's name on it has fallen off and is now missing. We can only assume that someone has found it, placed it in their golf bag and forgotten about it. Or perhaps an animal has moved it?! (in which case it could be anywhere!)

If you know anything about this, please let Colleen know as we need to liaise with the men as to whether or not a new plaque needs to be ordered. (This takes a while and is not cheap so we are hoping someone can solve this problem for us!)

For your information, we are unable to have a general ceremony at the stone this year due to Covid. The families only will be invited.

What a fabulous day for golf!! It was especially fabulous for those who played 27 holes.  Today is the first time in quite a few years that this event has not had to be postponed, so a big sigh of relief and another event ticked off the calendar for 2023. Today's full results are in the link below. The Championship prizes will be presented on Presentation Day on 7th December. Tributes for Mollie Chapman

Afternoon everyone, Some of you may wish to show your sorrow at Mollie's passing. Rather than inundate Jenny and her family with flowers, the CCWGA has suggested a donation to Mollie's favourite charity. She was a long time supporter of the Fred Hollows Foundation and in discussions with her family, it was decided that perhaps setting up a fundraising page in Mollie's honour would be appropriate. Their focus in Australia is to eliminate avoidable blindness in the Indigenous population. All donations, no matter how small, in Mollie's name will add to her legacy.
