Results Thursday 2nd September

Another beautiful day, even though it was a little windy. The scores were really good today, so it looks like the run has come back. The balls went to 33 on a countback.

Reports from the course say that the magpie was swooping today, attacking several ladies this morning. So beware as you come down the fifth near the sixth tee. Stay to the right if possible.

We have quite a few new ladies joining us on Thursdays. We would like to welcome you to our club and hope that you enjoy playing golf with us.

Next week is the first week of the trial 18 hole competition times. The first tee time is now 7 am and we have to be through the front 9 for everyone, which means the later tee times as well, by 1:30 pm. If we cannot do this because of slow play, then the number of timeslots will be reduced accordingly. Your committee fought very hard to maintain our 18 hole competition for 64 ladies, with the results sent through to Golflink, instead of only being able to play 9.

It is every player's responsibility to make sure that we can keep doing this. Some reminders of what we expect: It is essential that you stay up with the group in front, not in front of the group behind. Conversations can be carried out before and after, not instead of hitting your next shot. A maximum of three minutes is allowed to search for a lost ball. If in doubt, hit a provisional. Mark your card while your playing partner is teeing off at the next tee, not before you leave the previous green. If everyone does all these little things we will be able to keep playing 18 holes.

Our birthdays this week are: Suzanne Connor on Friday 27th, Jill Lavery on Sunday 29th, Noela Hilbert and Debbie Lorking today 2nd September. Happy birthday to all of you!!
